The German-original Signia Pure 312 X costs Rs.530,000 to Rs.875,000 per unit depending on technology level. The rechargeable Signia Pure Charge & Go series costs Rs.830,000 to Rs.1,940,000 per pair.
The Pure 312 1X (16 channels) is Rs.530,000 per unit, the 3X (24 channels) Rs.670,000, the 5X (32 channels) Rs.745,000 and the 7X (48 channels) Rs.875,000 per unit. Singapore-manufactured Pure 312 units run from Rs.375,000 to Rs.635,000 per unit. How should you read this price index?
Check the basis first (per unit or per pair), compare like with like (same origin and technology level), and treat the Chinese column as a warning reference, not an option.
Basis. Battery models are priced per unit, so two ears means two units. The Charge & Go rechargeable families are priced per pair. A per-pair figure is not directly comparable to a per-unit figure.
Origin. The same model name exists in German-original, Singapore-manufactured and Chinese copy versions. Only the German original carries the full manufacturer warranty. Always confirm origin in writing.
Technology level. Within a family, the suffix 1, 3, 5 or 7 corresponds to 16, 24, 32 or 48 channels. Higher levels add finer sound shaping and stronger automatic noise handling, not more loudness.
Style. At the same channel count, in-canal and RIC models cost more than BTE because the electronics are miniaturised.
The China column. It is published so patients can recognise a copy price. PHS does not dispense Chinese copies.
What the index shows this quarter
The gap between German original and Singapore varies a great deal. At Intuis level the Singapore unit is about 95% of the German price (Rs.300,000 against Rs.315,000 for Intuis 3), so the original is the obvious choice. At Motion 1Nx level the Singapore unit is about two-thirds of the German price.
Chinese copy prices do not follow the genuine technology tiers consistently. For example, the copy sold as Motion 5Nx is cheaper than the copy sold as Motion 3Nx. The label on a copy says little about what is inside.
Rechargeable pricing spans the widest range, because it covers three families from the entry Orion to the premium Pure Charge & Go.
Why do hearing aid prices change in Pakistan?
Hearing aids are imported, so prices follow the rupee exchange rate, import duties and freight, and general inflation. Manufacturer model launches also shift where each tier sits.
PKR exchange rate. German-original devices are bought in foreign currency. When the rupee weakens, landed cost rises, usually with a delay as new stock arrives.
Import costs. Customs duties, taxes, freight and insurance are all part of the landed cost of a medical device.
Inflation. Clinic operating costs, rent and salaries rise with general inflation in Pakistan.
Model cycles. When a manufacturer launches a new platform, older generations may be repriced or withdrawn, and the new generation enters at its own price point.

Why does the index show Chinese copy prices if PHS does not sell them?
Because patients meet those prices in the market and need a reference to recognise them. If a seller offers a "German original" at a price close to the Chinese column, that is a strong sign the device is a copy. PHS dispenses German originals and openly disclosed Singapore units only.
Does the index include hearing test prices?
